What a garden design job covers
A designer looks at the space with you: how you use it, the light, the slope and the soil, and what you would like to see from the windows.
Then they plan the beds and the planting, choose shrubs, perennials and trees that suit North Georgia, prepare the ground, plant, and finish the beds with mulch or pine straw.
It does not usually include patios, walls or drainage work, though you can ask for those on the same request.
Ask the provider whether the design is priced separately from the planting, and what aftercare is included.
What changes the price
- The size of the beds, and how many plants they hold.
- Plant sizes. Larger shrubs and trees cost more but fill in sooner.
- The ground. Red clay often needs more preparation before planting.
- Access and slope, which change how long the work takes.
- Watering. Whether the beds need new irrigation.
The provider quotes for your garden after seeing it.
